JUNIOR JOURNEYS

The Junior Sub-School is a mini school which has its own precinct.  The focus is on relationships, rigour in learning and the development of skills to ensure success in later years.

Features of the Junior Journey are :

A team approach where staff work closely together to develop curriculum and foster engagement, connection and belonging.

Each Year 7 form has a Significant Teacher - this person provides a transition link between primary and secondary school - they support the pastoral care program.

An engaging and challenging curriculum that caters for different learners.  Staff have a clear understanding that students learn in many different ways and exhibit many different kinds of intelligences.  Consequently we have developed a curriculum that caters for individual needs and preferences.

  • A breadth of experiences on which to build future learning. All subjects at years 7 and 8 are part of the core program
  • Students gain experience in each learning area enabling informed choices when they reach the extensive elective system in years 9 and 10
  • An extra curricula program which includes music, drama, sports, performing arts, eisteddfod, chess club and environmental groups.
